For me, property is about far more than buildings. Houses tell stories, create spaces to live in, and often mark the beginning of an entirely new chapter in life.

My connection with the world of property began long before I moved to Brittany. After studying business administration in Mannheim, I specialised in real estate and completed my studies with a degree in Business Administration, specialising in Real Estate.

Since then, property has been a constant presence throughout my life, both professionally and personally. From property development, buying and selling to renovations, construction-related matters and the development of real estate projects, I have come to know many different facets of this industry.

Over the years, I have learned one important lesson: a house is about far more than square metres, architectural plans and technical specifications. It needs to be right for the people who will live in it.

From Baden-Baden to Brittany

I originally come from Baden-Baden, a city known for its elegance, order and a certain idea of the good life.

But at some point, I realised that I wanted something different for my own life. More nature, more authenticity, less perfection. A place where not everything is planned, standardised and predictable.

Eventually, my journey led me to Brittany. I have been living here permanently since December 2021, on the Presqu’île de Lézardrieux, and today I can no longer imagine calling anywhere else home.

Brittany is not a place where everything has to conform to German notions of order and perfection. And that is precisely one of its greatest attractions for me.

Here, the wind and the weather set the rhythm of life. People are direct, and the landscape is both rugged and breathtakingly beautiful. Things do not always work out as expected – but that is exactly what makes life here so special.

My own little piece of Brittany

My home is a traditional Breton stone house dating back to 1863, with walls more than a metre thick, a slate roof, blue shutters and hydrangeas growing in front of the house.

It is not a perfect house. It does not meet all modern energy-efficiency standards, has a few quirks of its own and occasionally calls for patience, practical skills and creative solutions.

But it has character. History. Soul.

When I was looking for a house, I visited many different properties, weighed up their advantages and disadvantages, examined the documentation and tried to make a sensible, well-informed decision.

And then, one day, I stood in front of this old house and simply knew: this was the one.

Perhaps it was not the most rational choice on paper. But it was the right house for me.

That is precisely why I understand how important it is to combine both elements when buying a property: that feeling in your heart and a clear-eyed view of reality.

Experience, expertise and an instinct for houses

My professional background helps me look at properties today not only with enthusiasm, but also with a trained and experienced eye.

What is the condition of the building? What work might be needed? Which questions should be asked before making a decision? What might be hiding behind an attractive façade?

Buying property in Brittany comes with particularities that foreign buyers may not always recognise at first glance.

Through my own house purchase, my experiences on the ground and my regular exchanges with estate agents, notaires, tradespeople and other professionals, I have gained practical knowledge of many of these challenges.

Honesty is especially important to me. I would never try to make a property sound better than it really is. If something excites me, I will say so. If I have concerns, I will voice them just as openly.

After all, a property should not bring joy only on the day of the viewing. It should still feel like the right decision many years later.

Bretagne Service – built on conviction

Bretagne Service grew out of my personal journey and my many years of experience with property.

Today, I support property owners who are unable to be here permanently by looking after their homes. I carry out regular property checks, arrange for tradespeople when necessary and act as a local point of contact whenever something needs to be taken care of.

I also accompany people who are considering finding a new home in Brittany. Openness, reliability and an honest assessment are particularly important to me.

I offer a personal, independent service and take pride in treating every property as if it were my own.

I have now been living here permanently for several years, have fully integrated into life in the region and can no longer imagine ever moving back.

Brittany is quieter than many of the places I knew before. It is more direct, more honest, more unpretentious. Here, you do not stroll through the noise of a busy city, but walk in the wind.

And when you feel like enjoying a leisurely coffee in a more refined setting, there is Paimpol or Perros-Guirec. Or you can wander through the enchanting, winding streets of Tréguier, where time seems to move to a different rhythm.

Life here is different. Unfiltered. Real. Sometimes uncomfortable, but all the more genuine for it.

Today, I help people who are looking for precisely this feeling. People who do not simply want to buy a house, but want to find a place that feels right.

My professional background is unusually diverse – and it is precisely this combination of experience that I now bring to Bretagne Service.

Since discovering Pleubian in 2003, I have personally purchased and renovated several houses and a former hangar here. Through these projects, I have acquired extensive practical knowledge of Breton buildings, renovation, materials and traditional craftsmanship.

Two of these houses are holiday homes that we have been renting out and looking after ourselves for more than twenty years. From preparing and maintaining the properties, to organising stays and maintaining personal contact with our guests, we take care of every aspect ourselves.

This long experience has taught me that a holiday home requires much more than routine maintenance: it needs a presence on site, foresight, hospitality and an eye for the many small details that make both owners and guests feel comfortable and well looked after.

At the same time, I worked for many years as a set designer and production designer for television and film productions in Germany, across Europe and overseas. It is a profession in which creativity and aesthetics are just as important as technical understanding, organisation and cost control. Understanding buildings and their potential, coordinating different trades, monitoring quality and deadlines, and finding good solutions quickly when unexpected situations arise – all of this has been part of my professional everyday life.

I have also designed interiors and event decorations for professional and private clients and accompanied their implementation from concept to completion.

My training in special effects and pyrotechnics has added solid technical expertise to my professional background, together with a strong commitment to precision, responsibility and safety. My studies in art history, combined with my knowledge of architectural styles, materials and craftsmanship, allow me to bring together aesthetic sensitivity, an understanding of historic buildings and technical expertise.

My additional qualifications include driving licences covering cars, heavy goods vehicles and motorcycles, as well as boat licences for inland and coastal navigation.

A local network – and someone on site

Together with my husband, a carpenter and wooden boat builder from Pleubian, I am deeply connected to the region and firmly rooted here. Over many years, we have built up a reliable network of local craftsmen, tradespeople and specialist companies.

This means that I can do more than simply check on a property. I can assess technical situations, organise the necessary work, communicate directly with the relevant professionals and supervise work on site.

The way I work

I appreciate things that are well made – and simple, realistic and sustainable solutions.

For me, it is always better to anticipate a problem than to repair it later. Identifying issues at an early stage, asking the right questions and, when necessary, bringing in the right specialist.

I always keep quality, costs and clear communication equally in mind. My clients should know what is happening in their property, understand why particular measures may be necessary and be able to make informed decisions calmly, even from a distance.

I am German and French, and I speak and write fluent German, French and English. This dual cultural background allows me to naturally bridge the gap between property owners, craftsmen and local businesses.

A house is never entirely left to chance

I believe that sometimes we do not find a house – the house finds its owner.

Every place has its own history, character and particular atmosphere. Sometimes all it takes is an attentive eye, sensitivity and the right idea to reveal and bring to life what makes a place special.
